Who Says Hockey Isn't Entertaining?

Well, we haven't made an article dedicated to hockey yet so might as well start now with the start of the NHL Playoffs. Hockey is like art: I don't know who's good but I do know what I like. And I liked this clip from the Flyers-Sabres overtime game:

And the best part is that it was a completely clean hit and no penalty was awarded. Good, clean fun.

It's sad that we can take so much time focusing on one hit that wasn't even that meaningful (other than the sheer fact that it was brutal) and ignore the fact that the game as a whole was excellent...

Simon Gagne, one of the best young forwards in the game, scoring the equalizer with less than 2 minutes left. A decent overtime that included that vicious hit. Then halfway through the double OT, a beautiful centering pass that the Buffalo player sneaked over Robert Esche's left pad.

Buffalo is up 1-0 in the series, not in the hits category.

I changed my mind...the best part of the clip is the WWE-type announcers that the OLN has calling the game. If it were radio I would have totally thought it was Wrestlemania

Fortunately, many people do care, and I'm one of them. Just because you do not like something does not mean that the whole country/world feels the same. If that were the case, nobody would be a Yankee fan.

Even after last season's debacle, hockey is still one of the most popular sports in the world. For those who have short attention spans, the game is even faster, and for the scoring-deprived, the goalie's pads are smaller.

The game was entertaining before, and it still is now... and yes, I am now a member of the Alex Rodriguez fan club.
