For the Record
I just wanted to point out, because it needs to be said, that Steve Nash has now officially won more MVP awards than Shaquille O'Neal. I think the MVP voters in the NBA need to take a long, hard look in the mirror.

Shaq's lack of MVP hardware really doesn't have anything to do with Steve Nash. I can't say that Nash should definitely have won, but in my opinion, he is as good a candidate as anyone else this year. It's not most dominant player, or even best player, but most valuable player, and the argument that Nash has been the most valuable to his team is not without merit.
Perhaps not without merit, but can you honestly tell me that Steve Nash is more valuable to his team than LeBron James or Kobe Bryant? It's preposterous to broach that. Without Nash, the Suns are still a solid team. Without LeBron or Kobe the Cavs and Lakers are lottery teams at best and contenders for worst records in the NBA at worst.
As for the point about Shaq, it's an absolute travesty that one of the 10 best players in the history of the NBA can only have 1 MVP award and a nice player - but far from an all-time great - like Nash can win two. That's absurd.
Pretty ridiculous.
